Bernie Sanders is the First Presidential Candidate to Ever Address the Arab American Caucus

Sen. Bernie Sanders became the first-ever presidential candidate to ever address the California Democratic Party’s Arab American Caucus on Saturday evening during the California Democratic Party convention in San Francisco.

Iyad Afalqa, chairman of the Caucus and former Sanders delegate at the 2016 Democratic National Convention, introduced him and made that announcement.

The Arab American Caucus was established in 1991, to unite and provide representation for Arab Americans within the California Democratic Party structure.
